Skydiving is one of those things where your experience will depend a lot on where you do it. Sure, it’s cool that you jumped out of a plane…but imagine jumping out of a plane while looking at the snow capped mountains of Switzerland. While there are many jump sites all over the world, here are a few of our top picks for the most epic places to go skydiving.
Known as one of the best adventure hubs in Europe, Skydiving over the Swiss Alps, is one of the best things that you can do while in the country. The snow capped peaks of the magnificent Jungfrau mountain and the Matterhorn in the Alps is just an epic view to see while barreling down from the sky. We’ve had the fortunate experience to do it ourselves and trust us, it is EPIC! If you haven’t had your share of adrenaline fill after that jump, don’t fret as Interlaken has a dozen or so heart racing activities like bungee jumping, whitewater rafting and canyoning to name a few. On a side note, if you’re looking for where to stay in Interlaken, we have put together a list of our recommended hotels and hostels.
Palm Jumeirah, United Arab Emirates
Imagine jumping off a plane as you have the perfect aerial view of the stunning artificial archipelago shaped like a palm tree. This reclaimed urban coastal area is stunning enough as it is but wait until you see it from the top! Be weary that jumps here tend to get booked out early so a reservation is best to be made ahead of time. Relish in the endless hues of blues and greens as you free fall over 120 miles per hour!
Namib Desert, Namibia
If snowy peaks or ocean views aren’t your thing, how about jumping to see an endless sea of sand dunes in the Namib Desert, in the Southwest Coast of Africa. As far as your eyes can stretch, you can see the the various peaks of the sand dunes creating magical shadows as it rolls over to the edge of the bright blue sea. Trust us, the view 10,000ft from the air is pretty magical!

The rugged outdoor capital of the world naturally deserves a spot in our epic places to go skydiving list. Why? Well imagine jumping as you marvel at the snow-capped peaks of the Southern Alps while gazing out at the wild Tasman Sea. As you fall, you will have an uninhibited view of lakes, glaciers, and mountains. The natural beauty of this jump is unparalleled and is definitely one to capture on your action camera!
Grand Canyon, USA
The majestic Grand Canyon is one of America’s most beautiful natural wonders. Imagine being able to see it from the top as you plummet down with a scenic view of browns and blues which make up the canyon’s impressive facade. In fact, one school’s motto is, ‘if you’re going to skydive once in your life, skydive The Grand Canyon and after seeing the view from the top, we think we agree with them!
For those of you who are in Asia, don’t fret, your adrenaline filled adventure is available here too as you see a mixture of green mountain and blue ocean. Mount Everest, Nepal
Now this granddaddy of all bucket list adventures completes the list because in our opinion, it can’t get any more epic than this. Drop out of a helicopter while your 23,000 feet up in the air with the grand Mount Everest as your backdrop. Be warned, these jumps are PRICEY. Like ‘oh my god, I have to sell my kidneys’ kind of pricey, but hey, you can’t put a price on epicness. Prices start at around $22,000 for two jumps along with some trekking. You free fall to either Syangboche Airport which is 12,340 feel above sea level or to Ama Dablam Base Camp which sits 15,000 feet above sea level. Dubbed as an activity you have to do before you die, this is definitely a must for all adventure thrill seekers.
