If you find yourself scrolling down Instagram for hours on end in search of some travel inspiration, chances are, you would have stumbled on to a few photos of #vanlife. Recently, there has been a huge rise in young people opting to forgo living in a traditional home. Instead, their habitat of choice is a van which they convert into their tiny home on wheels.
In fact, next year, my partner and I are planning to ditch the backpacks for a while and have our go at doing van life in Europe ourselves. Our van of choice? The infamous sprinter camper van mainly because it seems like a solid all around vehicle. When we turned to Instagram to look for inspiration, true enough, there are heaps of others who had the same idea as we did.
I must admit after I started searching for sprinter van conversion ideas on Instagram, I ended up spending hours…(literally, HOURS) of my time scrolling through every photo. So to save you all from getting lost down the rabbit hole, here are a few of my all-time-favorite sprinter camper van conversions.
Sprinter Vans on Instagram
@dogntravel
These guys are traveling across South America with their DIY Sprinter van alongside with their cute dog. I love this van build mainly because it looks so clean and bright. Also, how cute is that hanging cardboard Christmas tree?
@40hoursoffreedom
I recently interviewed these guys for our van life interview series because I’ve been obsessing over their van for quite some time now. The entire thing looks so well made and just looks super clutter free! Plus, I love all the natural light that their van gets due to all the windows! They are also one of the few vans out there that have a toilet and a shower.

Now we’ve literally been following this dude for a while mainly because we think he has one of the best looking vans out there. I’m a fan of the dark wood finish and love the overall layout and simplicity of his space. Scott travels around North America with his little furry friend, Ellie. If you watch his Sprinter van tour, you will be amazed to see how much storage he has built in the van. It’s awesome!
@eh.mon & @rebeccamoroney
Eamon & Bec are popular You Tubers who have heaps of pretty awesome videos on van life conversions. I absolutely adore their van because it actually looks like a home! From the tiles in their kitchen to their super snazzy herb rack ( I knooow…I get excited about weird things!) If you’re serious about van life and want to learn more about how to convert a Sprinter van, definitely check these guys out!
@ourhomeonwheels
I’ve also been following their account for a while mainly because they have THE cutest baby in the world! Apart from that, I love how clean looking the van is. They are also one of the few vans that I’ve seen that actually has an actual desk and chair to work from. How awesome is that?
@divineontheroad
I recently just stumbled upon this IG account and was immediately hooked. I love the muted grey colors combined with the dark wood. Together with her partner, these guys are driving around North America. The kitchen tiles make it look super cozy and don’t even get me started on the fairy lights!
@sheepfeet
Katch and Ben are photographers who travel and work from their Sprinter Van. If you hop on to their Instagram feed, you will immediately a myriad of beautiful photos of them, their travels, and their nifty van. I love their work set up and the fact that they have a metal safe built in to store all of their gadgets.
@lifeultralight
I found these guys when doing “research” for this article and immediately fell in love with their van layout. My partner Tom and I need desk space to work from which is why the usual seating area that converts to a bed makes the most sense but these guys somehow managed to combine both! Plus the bottom part of their bed is now one big storage space which is pretty ingenious.
@adventuringtwo
If you think a van can’t look homey…think again! These guys nailed the design and overall look of the van and have heaps of gorgeous photos as they travel around Australia. Their layout is also pretty unique don’t you think?
@livingbythemile
I love the whole rustic country home feel that this van is going for. From the wooden tables and panels to the cool little reading nook near the front of the van. These guys also keep it real on their blog talking about the ins and outs of van life which is pretty awesome.
@sprint2explore
Now in case you haven’t noticed, I like this van layout the most. I think it looks clean, you can get a lot of work done, and your van always looks tidy. I absolutely adore all the plants that they have plus if you look at other photos of their build, they also have loads of storage space which is always needed.
So there you have it! Hopefully, this post has given you a few ideas on different van life conversions.
