Although Las Vegas is more popularly known for crazy bachelor parties and shotgun weddings, if you know where to look, there are a ton of romantic things to do in Las Vegas-and no, they don’t involve Elvis Presley look a-likes walking you down the aisle.
The beautiful thing about Las Vegas is that there is a little bit of something for everyone! Whether you are looking for things to do for a fun girls’ weekend or you want to eat your way through the many restaurants in the area, Vegas has a little bit of something for everyone.
After recently spending over 6 days wining and dining all over the city, here’s my compilation of the best things to do in Las Vegas.
Where to Stay in Las Vegas for Couples
Before I dive into what to do, finding the perfect hotel is crucial as it sets the tone for your entire trip. While there is no shortage of fancy hotels in Las Vegas, I always recommend booking a room at the Venetian. The suites at the Palazzo are the perfect size for any romantic getaway.Â
We were in Vegas for my boyfriend Tom’s birthday and had an incredible time at the Venetian! While the entire hotel was like a large European playground, the attention to detail and small touches made our stay absolutely perfect.
I also love the fact that there are a ton of great restaurants and bars within the hotel itself so we had a ton of options to choose from. In fact, a few of our favorite meals were all within the grounds of the Venetian Hotel.

Romantic Things to Do in Las Vegas for Couples
Wine and Dine in Las Vegas
Naturally, one of the most romantic things you can do with your significant other is to sample the many incredible restaurants in the area! I am a HUGE foodie so coming here, I had a list of places that I wanted to sample and try.
Top Tip: Vegas restaurants book out in advance so if you have your dates set, get organized and book meals ahead of time!Â
While there are a ton of options outside the strip, here are a few of the romantic dinner places I recommend within the strip:
- Mizumi at the Wynn
- Lavo at the Venetian
- Momufoku at the Cosmo
- Bouchon at the Venetian (also fantastic for brunch!)
- The Wynn Buffet (for a typical Vegas buffet experience)
- Kabuto Edomae (sushi omakase meal)
- Catch at Aria
- Bazaar Meat at the Sahara
Watch the Bellagio Fountain Show
There is something absolutely magical about the Bellagio fountains! I’ve seen it a dozen times before but it never gets old. If you have time, definitely stick around for a couple of shows and try to catch it when they sync the water with classical music. While you can watch the fountain show from the many great restaurants at the Bellagio waterfront, the best vantage point is from the main street, Oceans 11 style.
Ride a Gondola at the Venetian
While riding a gondola sounds incredibly cheesy, it is a must-do while in Vegas! You now have the option to ride the indoor gondola or the outdoor one. When we went, we went on the outdoor one and were serenaded by our gondolier with Italian melodies! In my opinion, both the indoor and outdoor gondola ride are completely different experiences so choosing which one to go for would be completely up to you!
Wine and Dine at the Eiffel Tower
Although there is nothing better than a trip to the city of love, flying out to Paris isn’t always as accessible. The next best thing? A fabulous dinner at the Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas.Â
Located right in front of the Bellagio fountains, the Eiffel Tower is 46 stories high and features an observation deck with 360-degree scenery, giving you one of the best vantage points from the city! The food is good and the wine list is extensive, just make sure you reserve in advance!
If you don’t want to have dinner there, you can just pay for the entrance to the observation deck.
Visit a Couple of Speakeasy Bars
When in Vegas, doing some sort of bar hopping tour around the many cocktail bars is a MUST-DO! While there is no shortage of good ones to visit, a few that I can personally recommend are:
- The Underground (Speakeasy under the Mob Museum)- They have live music in the weekends which is 100% worth the trip
- The Barbershop at the Cosmopolitan
- The Chandelier at the Cosmopolitan
- The Dorsey Whiskey Bar at the Venetian
- Rosina at the Venetian
Have a Spa Day
There’s nothing more romantic than getting pampered so why not arrange for a full spa day! Most large resorts offer full massages and hydrotherapy options so check in with your front desk to find out your options.
Champagne, jacuzzis, and a couples massage, doesn’t get any better than that!
Helicopter Ride Above the Strip
Hands down, one of the most romantic things you can do is go on a helicopter ride above the strip! Not only does this give you an incredible view of the city, it also creates such a memorable moment! I mean, how many times can someone say they’ve been on a helicopter over Las Vegas?Â
Have Dinner at Top of the World
Speaking of incredible views, the restaurant on top of the Strat Skypod, Top of the World offers unparalleled views of the city. Located at the end of the strip, the Skypod revolves 360 degrees every 80 minutes. Like any other place in Vegas, make sure you make a reservation!
Insider Tip: For restaurants with a view, you can pay a premium price on platforms like Open Table to reserve a table right by the window! While the price is often steep, the views make it worth it!
Have Cocktails at Rosina (The Venetian)
Although I already mentioned this earlier, if you’re looking for a chilled out cocktail bar with delicious drinks (and amazing service), definitely head to Rosina located at the Venetian.
We were looking for a lounge type of place and didn’t necessarily want to go to a big club and chanced upon Rosina. It was the perfect nightcap to a fun evening.
The bartenders are super fun and are able to customize drinks according to your alcohol of choice and flavor profiles that you enjoy! I asked for a mezcal based cocktail and it was easily one of the best drinks I had during the trip.
See a Las Vegas Show
There is no shortage of entertainment while in Las Vegas and one of the most romantic thing you can do while in Vegas is to whisk your significant other away to a dinner and a show! From jaw-dropping Cirque du Soleil acrobatic shows to mind-ding magic acts, you have a ton of choices to choose from!Â
Whichever show you choose, make sure you find out what time they end (or start) so you can plan out your dinner ahead of time!
Popular Las Vegas Shows:
Drive a Sports Car in the Las Vegas Speedway
While driving a sports car isn’t typically a romantic thing to do, surprising your significant other with a fun experience is! Get the chance to drive your dream car around a racetrack (zero speed limits) and learn from a professional racetrack driver.
Helicopter Ride over the Grand Canyon
If you want to take a break from the city, spending the morning surrounded by nature is the best way to do it. Rather than wasting a couple of hours doing a day trip to the Grand Canyon, why not travel in style by doing a Grand Canyon sunset tour. Fly over one of the wonders of the world with your partner in this once in a lifetime experience.
Go on a Hot Air Balloon Ride
While this isn’t exactly in Las Vegas, it is only 45 minutes away! If you’re looking for something memorable to do, you can book a hot air balloon ride over the Pahrump valley which gives you incredible views of the scenic desert landscape below! End the experience with a champagne toast as soon as you land.
Go Hiking in Valley of Fire State Park
Hit pause on the big city and head to Valley of Fire State Park located only an hour away from Las Vegas for an afternoon of hiking and exploration. Being that Las Vegas is known for its extreme weather, make sure you factor that in when choosing what time you head here. We recommend going either early in the morning or late in the afternoon to make the experience bearable!
If you don’t have your own transport, check out this small group tour to Valley of Fire which you can join!
Go on a Food Tour
Although you understandably want to spend as much time with your partner as possible, we 100% recommend going on a food tour. Not only is it a great way to meet other couples, it’s also the best way to discover the best restaurants in the strip.
I recommend the Lip Smacking Food Tour. I booked the Savory Bites and Neon Lights Food Tour as a birthday surprise and wasn’t disappointed. This tour consisted of restaurant hopping around 4 of Vegas’ top restaurants plus a helicopter ride in the end. Totally worth the $ considering the amount of food that you get during the tour!
If you want something a little less flashy, they also have other food tours that you can join!
Popular Food Tours in Las Vegas:
Go on a Romantic Breakfast Brunch
Brunch in Vegas is a must! Apart from the many breakfast buffet places that offer free flowing champagne and mimosas, a few other places that I recommend you try would be Bouchon, Chica, and Yard Bird South! During our time in Vegas, we had brunch at these places and weren’t disappointed!Â
If you feel like trying a Vegas staple, Hash-a-Go-Go offers a (HUGE) plate of delicious chicken and waffles! Sharing 1 dish is totally recommended! The Crab Cakes Eggs Benny in Bouchon are to die for!
Go on a Winery Tour in Pahrump WineryÂ
If you’re looking for something unique to do, head on over to Pahrump Winery which is Nevada’s winery in the desert. Just an hour away from Las Vegas, you can book to eat in their restaurant or arrange a wine tasting tour.
Visit the Hoover Dam
From Las Vegas, the Hoover Dam is a short 30 minute drive away! If you have a car, it’s the perfect mid-day excursion. If not, you can also opt to join the many tours that take you to the area from the strip which often take you to the Grand Canyon West with a stop to the Hoover Dam.
Observe the Strip from the High Roller
I’m a sucker for great viewpoints so if you’re looking for another awesome vantage point for this fun city, head up to the High Roller which gives you 360-degree views of the Las Vegas Valley and The Strip from 550 feet above!
People Watch at Freemont Street
If you want to get a feel for what Vegas was like before the glitzy hotels and fancy restaurants, head on over to Freemont Street where you can people watch to your heart’s content. Between all the street performers, bright lights, and live music happening, it is definitely an assault to your senses- come prepared!
Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend Day Trip
Going on tours if you don’t have your own transportation is a great way to get out of the city! If you’re up for it, head on over to a trip to the famous Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe bend. While this is definitely a full-day affair due to the distance, the views are absolutely worth it!
Visit Red Rock Canyon and the 7 Magic Mountains
Again, if you are up for doing a day tour with your partner, consider booking this tour as it takes you to the popular Red Rock Canyon as well the popular art piece, 7 Magic Mountains. Explore the incredible Mojave Desert and red rock formations as well as unique landscapes of the desert.
Sunset Dinner Cruise at Lake Mead
While we’re talking about unique experiences, head on over to Lake Mead which is located less than an hour outside of the city. Here, you can hop on a 2-hour sunset lake boat cruise which includes a 3-course dinner where you can take in the largest man-made lake in the US.
Visit the Grand Canyon Together
While I’ve talked about exploring the Grand Canyon via helicopter in this article, there are a plethora of other ways to do this from Las Vegas. Other options include bus tours, landing on the actual floor of the canyon and doing a champagne toast, to visiting the popular Skywalk on the Western side of the Grand Canyon.
Las Vegas to Grand Canyon Tours:
- Grand Canyon South rim Tour
- Grand Canyon plus option Skywalk Tour
- Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour (with champagne!)
- Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, and Route 66 Tour
Go on a National Parks Tour
Popular among day trippers, you can also head on over to visit two of the US’ popular National Parks in one go. From Las Vegas, you can hop on a group tour taking you to both Bryce National Park and Zion National Park.
Sunset BBQ and Horseback Ride
If your significant other is a lover of the wild west, whisk them away on a sunset cowboy bbq and horseback ride in the Nevada Southwest Desert. The ranch is only a 45 minute drive away from Vegas. Overall, it’s a great experience for those who want to mix it up and spend the evening under the stars, away from the city lights!
Black Out Dining in the Dark
If you want to do something memorable, consider going on a black out dining in the dark experience. From the minute you get there, you will be asked to check in your bag and go through the entire meal in the dark. Your expert servers will guide you through the entire experience, including guessing what you are currently eating!
Ultimately, you can spend 3 days (or even a week) in Vegas and have a blast with your significant other! There are a TON of things to see and do, making it the ultimate playground for everybody!
We spent 5 days in this incredibly fun city and had a blast! How about you? Have you been to Las Vegas with your partner? What are some of your favorite romantic things to do in the city? Comment below and share your experience.
