An enchanting experience as soon as you step through the doors, the Tile House is definitely one of the most unique Airbnbs in the US and one look will explain why.

Sitting in the rural desert, this entire home is glinting and glimmering with tiles, and has been a work in progress since 2000. The host has tediously been collecting bits and pieces by hand all over the world to bring their unique vision to life.

Everywhere you look there’s something to see, from the artfully mosaiced kitchen to the brightly adorned bathroom. Every inch of this place is bedazzled with different colored tiles or glass baubles, complemented by art-like pieces of furniture and decor.

Even the exterior of the home is covered with tiles, along with interesting sculptures that dot the courtyard. A colorful experience for all, the Tile Home is without a doubt one of the most unique Airbnbs in the USA.

Location: Geneva, Florida

Indulge your inner child with a stay in the Man Cave. Located in an actual airplane hanger, there’s plenty to keep you and your friends entertained during your time here. The space around the hanger is used for repairing classic cars and “other manly things” according to the listing, and on site you’ll also find alpacas, goats, chickens and a very cuddly cat.

This alone is enough to make it one of the most unique Airbnbs on the East Coast, but wait, there’s more!

Inside the cave, you’ll find plenty of fun and games to keep you occupied like old school pinball, a bar made from the fuel tank of a jet fighter, a hoistable hanging chair, drink fountain, and a giant collection of old movies and music.

While it’s not the most practical stay (there’s no real kitchen), it makes for one of the most unique Airbnb getaways in the USA and potentially the world.

Why We Love It: Manly man cave located inside an airplane hanger with lots to keep you occupied.

Type: Land Ship (2BR, 1B)

Location: Lyndon Station, Wisconsin

Superhost: Yes

Price: $

Yoho, yoho, a pirate’s life for… you? This pirate ship makes for one of the most unique Airbnbs in the USA especially because it’s completely landlocked.

This spacious ship is a kid’s dream, full of nooks and crannies to explore and even a slide coming off the side of the ship. Even for adults, a stay here is a treat, with stunning wooden sleeping quarters and an authentic feel to it.

It’s more of a glamping experience than anything, especially during the winter when there’s no running water. But the ship is heated and makes for quite the experience to stay during the snow. Nowhere’s cozier than below deck!

During the summer, the property offers lots of fun activities like rock climbing and water walking to further this unique experience.

Why We Love It: Landlocked pirate ship with cozy quarters and activities.

What Past Guests Have Said: “Good bang for your buck. I visited in the winter and the rooms retained heat fairly well. More of glamping experience than an actual cabin, but if you align expectations properly, it’s a good time. I would stay again.”

“This is truly a hidden treasure. Well maintained property and very well decorated. Can’t say that I’m the type of person to be overly impressed with lodging as I expect cleanliness but this was definitely a WOW. Excellent for families and nature enthusiasts. Love it- thanks for the adventure!”

The dome sits on a 12 acre farm and guests are encouraged to hike around and interact with the animals (we’re talking alpacas, sheep, goats and more). On site, there’s also a full-service recording studio, greenhouse, veggie garden, and workshop space where they spin wool from the alpacas!

Why We Love It: Glamping dome on trendy farm.

What Past Guests Have Said: “This place is amazing. Due to increased number of covid cases, we wanted a place where there are not many people around and this place was perfect. The temperatures dropped drastically than expected during our stay and Josh was very accommodating and he made sure we had an extra caravan along with dome to keep us warm. Kids enjoyed feeding chickens, sheep and alpacas. Lots of privacy and is a good place to visit with both family and friends. This apartment is oozing charm with exposed brick walls, ventilation hanging overhead and 20 foot ceilings. The place was built in 1897 but completely renovated in 2017 to give it modern updates while retaining the old world charm.

Decorated to the nines, this Chicago penthouse is everything you could ever dream of. The furnishings have an unmatched flair while still paying homage to the history of the place.

Since this is actually two apartments combined into one, you have double the fun. This means two kitchens, two living rooms and two laundry rooms… on top of the five enormous bedrooms.

The space is full of fun with a roof deck overlooking downtown Chicago, a billiards table, a loft space and a jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom.

Why We Love It: Historic Chicago building recently renovated with outstanding decor and amenities.

What Past Guests Have Said: “Absolutely amazing Airbnb! Great location to be able to walk or get a short Uber ride where ever you wanted. “Casey is a fantastic host that responds very timely. The apartment is gorgeous and in a perfect location.”

“Casey’s place was absolutely amazing! Both levels were spacey & my group & I had an awesome time! I recommend this location”

Why We Love It: Upscale hippie van in the woods with funds going to a good cause.

What Past Guests Have Said: “The sparklebus tucked away in a little wooded grove is what you need! Decorated so cute & cozy, on a shared property but with plenty of privacy, even the outdoor amenities had lovely aesthetics. My only regret was not staying longer.”

Price: $$$

Head Upstate to this extraordinary treehouse that is beyond all of your wildest dreams. A modern haven situated over a pond, this unique Airbnb is an outstanding stay for architecture lovers looking for a simple place to kick back for a bit.

The Willow Treehouse is pretty much booked out year round (though check back frequently for cancelations!) and with good reason. The massive living room window overlooks the pond outside, with a skylight overhead and a wood stove pumping heat through the area.

The kitchenette is in good shape with a stovetop and plenty of space. The concrete countertop creates a gorgeous contrast to the entire wooden interior.

Climb upstairs to the cozy sleeping loft that’s surrounded by windows on all sides and skylights up above. There’s nothing as magical as waking up to these lush forest views.

Why We Love It: Remarkable treehouse with huge windows and incredible architectural details.

What Past Guests Have Said: “Will always remember watching the moon move across the night sky while soaking in a hot tub in the middle of a beautiful snowy wonderland. Record player and collection of vinyls was a really lovely touch. Imagine it must be amazing in the summer time too – perhaps one day we will be lucky enough to return then.”

“I really enjoyed the house. It is very modern and secluded. During the day, the house has a lot of sunlight and is extremely warm. It is a little bit cold during the night time in the living room. Everything is very clean and organized. We would’ve come here again in the future!”
