The timing of our visa run to Singapore couldn’t have been better as we were happily surprised to be here just in time for the SG50 National Day Celebration!

The entire week we have enjoyed various events all around the city from parades, food markets, to the impressive exhibition of the Black Knight jets. The highlight however would be on August 9, when the skies will light up as Singapore celebrates its largest and most anticipated National Day. The SG50 firework display this year is supposed to be bigger, bolder, and downright awesome! The fireworks will be set off from seven different rooftops, two barges on the Marina Bay, the Padang, and the rooftop of the seating area at the floating platform. This will help create a larger 360 degree view for everyone to enjoy. Before you go and celebrate the big day, here’s the scoop on the best places to watch the Singapore National Day fireworks.singapore marina bay

Esplanade Waterfront

The Esplanade’s outdoor Theatre by the Bay provides a great view point for everything happening in the Marina. You will have to catch the fireworks from an angle but the festive and fun atmosphere makes up for it. Food and drinks are available by the nearby Makansutra Gluttons Bay Hawker center.

Insider Tip: The roads around the Esplanade will be closed during the event so check for alternative routes ahead of time.
